I was reminded of how good it feels to take a little time off away from home. Dave and I took a weekend drive down to Grand Forks for some shopping and some R 'n R. Now, since I started teaching piano, Dollarama has become my main source of shopping for teaching supplies, and my wardrobe has been put on the back burner. But, when we hit the stores in the States, my eyes lit up like a high-efficient light bulb. Everything was 50% off so we stocked up on clothes, jewellery, the game "Imagine If" (thanks to Chris and Karen for introducing me to this game!) and my personal favorite possession -- a RED purse! Now, for anyone reminiscing about Chi-Chi's (remember those days?), I'd totally recommend a trip to Paradiso! We loved their Mexican food so much, we went there twice. Dave's parents also spent the weekend in the States, and his brothers joined us on Sunday JUST FOR THE DAY to EAT at Paradiso. It's that good!!! Ole! However, when I ordered a marguarita, the waitress asked to see my ID! What -- do I look 20? Must be that Mary Kay age-fighting moisturizer. Like really, TEN years? Sheesh! To all of you folks heading down there this month yet, have fun! Eat, shop and be merry!

It was that good!
Sounds like you had a great time! I was laughing about you being ID'd, WOW you are doing pretty good to still be ID'd at age THIRTY, :-D!
That purse looks cool!
I'm FREAKING GREEN with envy! I am looking for a red leather purse! I was just checking out some at a Winners the other day!! I LOVE it! I'm going to Grand Forks for a night with a friend on Spring break .... I hope to find some deals!!
Yeah, Moni, I didn't know what to think when the waitress asked for ID.
As for the purse, Jill, all you need is a trip to Target! $16 on sale. Sadly, it's not leather, but at least it's affordable. Next time!
I don't care if its real leather, vinyl suites me fine!! Target here I come!
LOL! That's hilarious!
Sounds like you had a fun time. Nice purse
How funny! We DO have the same name!
My married name, though...
My husband's family is from Chicago, I think.
Thanks for dropping me a line!
That's TOO funny, Michelle! Boy, we're going to really confuse readers here. LOL! Love it! So, Zink is your married name. That is my maiden name, which I kept after I got married last year. Have you ever tried to get a hotmail account using your name? Probably not, because I signed up under 'michellezink@hotmail.com' 11 years ago! lol! I'll have to ask my dad if he knows about any Zinks in the Chicago area. This is news to me. Thanks for dropping by my blog! Please feel free to drop comments anytime! It's very nice to meet you!
Sincerely,
Michelle Tamara Zink
